Review of Chaweng Buri Resort, Koh Samui
Lovely resort just a few meters from Chaweng Beach’s busy shopping area
Lovely resort located peacefully and only a few meters from Chaweng Beach’s busy shopping street
Review of Chaweng Buri Resort
Despite being located in Samui’s most touristy area, Chaweng Buri Resort is incredibly peaceful.
11 years ago, on a family vacation with 14 people, I also stayed at the Chaweng Buri Resort. Back then we were really happy to stay at the resort.
In particular, our teenage kids were extremely happy to be so close to town and shopping.

I was very curious if the resort would be recognizable after all those years and sincerely hoped it hadn’t changed too much.
Villa with private pool
We arrived late in the afternoon at Chaweng Buri Resort from Koh Phangan.
In-check went quickly and with our luggage loaded onto a small wagon, we were followed to our villa down through the resort’s small footpaths in the tropical garden.
Completely like the last time, I was amazed how quiet and exotic the resort is, despite the city with its constant noise being only a few meters from the beautiful tropical garden.
Our villa was completely secluded and with a nice little furnished terrace at the entrance.
The decor was very nice with space for the 3 of us. The room was with a large plateau-bed with a queen size mattress and an extra single. Comfortable mattresses and nice soft linens.
The room was furnished with a fridge, coffee & tea facilities, a small couch, a small desk and TV.
A Villa Pool and teens are win win
From the bed you could look out on the terrace with the pool – which was more a spa than a pool.
For hours and until they were nearly dissolved, my teenage kids enjoyed themselves in the spa, which, in addition to massage, also offered flashing disco lights of all colors – a great success, especially in the dark!
The small terrace also held 2 sun beds, where you could either enjoy some private time or watch your kids while they had fun in the water.
The bathroom was open to the bedroom, but with glass doors between the toilet and shower area. There was plenty of delicious thick towels, soaps and creams, bathrobes, slippers and a safety box.
We were really excited about our villa and enjoyed having our own pool. On days when it was simply too hot to be by the large pool or on the beach, it was great to be able to stay in the a / c of the villa and occasionally slip into our own pool.
Besides the villas with pool, I was glad to see that the resort still had the deluxe bungalows we stayed in 11 years ago, and they were at least as charming as they were back then.
Chaweng Buri Resort’s large beachfront pool is wonderful. It’s large, clean and perfect for children.
I have never seen a better pool for children and I clearly remember 11 years ago when my children were much younger how much they enjoyed the pool.
The lagoon-shaped pool has a very large area with very low water, where the children can enjoy themselves for hours, as well as a defined spa area.
Behind the pool is Chaweng Buri Resort’s large breakfast restaurant. The buffet features a good selection of fruit, bread, eggs as you prefer, Asian dishes and cheeky birds who like to help you with the bread.
Between the pool and the beach you will find the “Beach Bar” where lunch is also served.
The menu offers you traditional Thai dishes and snacks, such as burgers and spring rolls, which can be enjoyed with the constant entertainment of the beach.
After lunch you can walk along the pool to the opposite side of the bar and get a nice 60 min. head to toe massage in the resort’s small massage shed – overlooking the beach and sea.
Chaweng Buri Resorts beach is wonderful and not as crowded as you might think due to its location.
If you are into beach activities then this is where you should stay. Here’s everything you can dream of . You name it – they got it.
Another nice thing is that you don’t have to leave your sun bed at all to shop – you can buy almost anything from your sun bed.
Chaweng Buri Resort is located in the middle of Chaweng approx. 7 km long and lively beach. Despite being the most touristy and neighbour to the island’s largest shopping area, the beach is by no means crowded.
All of the beach connected to Chaweng Buri Resort have sunbeds with tables and umbrellas in the sand. From here you can be well entertained by beach sellers and tourists who venture out into various water activities.
At lunchtime, sweet Thai ladies show up with their soup pots and offer delicious and tasty Thai dishes.
In the evening the beach sees at least as much activity as in daytime, as most resorts cover either drinks or dinner at the water’s edge.
On the main street that Chaweng Buri Resort is right next to, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, clothing stores etc.
The entertainment in this area is wide and you will surely be invited to buy tickets for both Thai boxing and ladyboys cabaret.
Around the clock you can get on the red pick-up taxis (called songthaew) and for cheap money, drive wherever you want on Samui.
Our Review of Chaweng Buri Resort
Chaweng Buri Resort is a lovely resort. I really enjoyed that the resort was quiet and without a lot of activities, events and other entertainment that you will find at most other resorts.
When you are that close to a noisy town that has everything, it’s great to be able to “go home” and find peace.
If you are traveling with teenagers who want to go shopping, Chaweng Buri Resort is ideal and a pool villa is clearly recommended as it is open 24/7. My teens loved the pool in the evening and when we came back from town.
Traveling with young children, the resort offers the best pool imaginable, with plenty space to splash around.
