Review of Sunrise Resort on Gili Air

It doesn’t get more exotic and charming …

On our trip to Bali and the Gili Islands we booked this paradise on Gili Air.
– The best resort on our entire trip –

Review of Sunrise Resort

After spending a few days at Nusa Indah Bungalows (affiliate link) on Gili Air’s northwest side of the island, we wanted to stay somewhere else on the island. This time in an area with slightly more activities and with slightly more people.

Sunrise Resort (affiliate link) is located on the southeast side of Gili Air and on TripAdvisor they had some really nice reviews. And it certainly wasn’t without reason.

By horse carriage we arrived at the little paradise where we had booked 3 nights.

Sunrise Resort

We looked forward to staying in a hotel with good standard and situated in a cozy area with a little more “entertainment” and still just next to the beach.

We arrived in the morning and right away we felt the very special Sunrise Resort atmosphere – already at that time we knew this resort would be our best stay in the Gili Islands and Bali.

We were quickly checked in and given the keys to the most beautiful 2 storey Balinese bungalows. Downstairs we had our very own “chill out” area with hammock, mosquito net bed, table and chairs as well as bathroom.

On the first floor we had a large double bed with a huge mosquito net as well as a terrace with sun chairs.

The view from the bungalow was the tropical garden and the beautiful lagoon pool.

The surroundings of Sunrise Resort

At the Sunrise Resort (affiliate link) beach side, the restaurant was located. By day a sun terrace with sun beds and views of the beach to Gili Meno. In the evening, it turned into a lovely white tablecloth restaurant.

The evening’s menu offered either an a la carte menu or a barbecue buffet with a selection of everything from seafood, to steak and vegetarian dishes.

The resort quickly became our favorite hotel. The atmosphere was wonderful and laid back. Service was top notch. Location unbeatable with everything within walking distance.

Although we had only booked 3 days, we ended up staying 6 days at Sunrise Resort (affiliatelink).

The last three days, however, we were moved from our Balinese Bungalow, which was reserved for other guests, to a kind of terraced bungalow.

These bungalows weren’t quite as charming, but had A / C and a super nice outdoor bathroom.

Our Review of Sunrise Resort

The resort is definitely one of the best recommendations of our trip to Bali and islands. When we return to Gili Air one day, we will definitely stay at the Sunrise Resort again!
