Review of StayPineapple Hotel
in New York

– Great hotel in Midtown –

Review of StayPineapple

It took a long time to find a hotel in New York. As a first-time visitor, it was almost beyond comprehension. There are many hotels to choose from. Most reviews are just as bad as prices are soaring. And if you do not know the areas, it is difficult to assess where the hotel is located.

My criteria was that the hotel should have a location which made it easy to walk to most places. The price for 5 nights should be a maximum of DKK 6,000, –

I ended up booking StayPineapple (affiliate link) which was located in Midtown. It had good reviews and a price of approx. 6,000 for 5 days. From (affiliate link) I had Rewards (affiliate link) from previous booking, which could be deducted by DKK 2,000, –

So it ended up being a really good price.

Early in the evening I arrived at the hotel with my “shared shuttle” from JFK airport. The lobby and reception were really nice and the staff sweet and welcoming. Check-in was quick and I was assigned a room on the 23rd floor (I had requested a room upstairs – I got that).

The room

Even before I got to my room, I could clearly sense that my hotel choice was spot on. Every detail was perfect – lobby, desk, elevator and welcoming people.

I was very excited about the room, because most comments on hotel rooms in NYC are that are very small and out worn.

The room was really nice. A large and nice bed with comfortable mattress and nice, soft bedding. Bedside tables on each side of the bed where a worktop could be pulled out and used as a desk.

A wardrobe with hangers and safety box with plenty of space for, among other things, a laptop. 3 slightly smaller cupboards where one of them contained a coffee / tea brewer with capsules, as well as 2 bottles of water.

Large 50″ flat screen with all American channels. The window could be opened a bit and there were dark curtains.

A small and nice detail, I think, was the light below the bed and that zebra carpet.

Also the bathroom was really nice, with spacious shower and a large shower head. Nice ceramic sink and thick luxury towels.

Nice details

The room had it all and I couldn’t put a finger on anything. The details were meticulous and I loved the sign to hang on the door.

Snacks at reception

My booking was without breakfast – which is normal for most hotels. But every morning from 7:00 am there was coffee and pastry at the reception. Again at 4.00pm there were muffins, coffee or juice.

The staff was very helpful with recommendations, printing of boarding passes, booking of shuttle etc. and helping as much as they could.

There is 24 hour staffing at the reception. You must check-out at 12, but if you leave later, you can have your luggage stored.

My Review of StayPineapple Hotel

StayPineapple was a fantastic hotel and I have only positive things to say. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in NYC.

Benefits of the hotel:

  • Good wifi
  • HDMI connector for charging
  • Spacious safety box
  • In-room coffee & tea facilities
  • Hair dryer
  • No street noise (from the 23rd floor)
  • Access to the hotel 24 hours
  • Great location – approx. 10 min. walk to Times Square and 25 min. to Central Park
